V1
The V1 is the first rocket we built, and was already intended to perform a propulsion controlled landing. Sadly, it has an annoying tendency to do unscheduled backflips. But hey, it flies! Design Files

Flight 1
After ignition of the ascent motor, the rocket immediately started flipping. The descent motor ignited while the rocket was already on the ground, causing it to dig into the dirt.
Flight 2
For the previous launch we had used the PID gains we manually calculated. For this flight, we decided to switch to the gains we got from the OpenRocket simulation. Shortly ignition of the ascent motor, the battery slipped out of the case, causing the entire rocket to lose power. The descent motor did not ignite.
Flight 3
We realized that we hadn't accounted for the gear reduction on our tvc, causing it to move only one quarter of what we wanted it to. The battery was provisionally taped into place. The nose cone blew off, most likely by the pressure. Most promising because it caught itself again.
